Job summary

Salem Academy and College in Winston-Salem, NC seeks an Executive Director of Residence Life to lead a comprehensive residential life program for 300+ beds. The ED supervises staff, manages budget, and partners with Operations and Public Safety to support student wellbeing and academic life.

You will collaborate with Student Affairs, oversee housing operations, and ensure inclusive, high-quality programming for first-year and returning students, reporting to the Dean of Students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience, including supervising staff.
• Strong communicator with outstanding interpersonal abilities to cultivate relationships.
• Ability to design and facilitate impactful student programming promoting community.

Responsibilities

• Lead and sustain a comprehensive residential life program aligned with the college’s mission.
• Supervise Director, ACs, GAs, RAs, and student workers.
• Manage staff recruitment, training, and evaluations.
• Develop on-call schedule including weekdays, weekends, and some evenings.
• Coordinate with Facilities on residence hall maintenance and safety.
