Juniata College, located in the scenic mountains of central Pennsylvania, is looking for a dynamic and compassionate Residential Life Coordinator (RLC) to join our vibrant community. As a Residential Life Coordinator at Juniata, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the residential experience for our diverse student body, fostering personal growth, community-building, and academic success. The RLC strives to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit liberal arts environment of approximately 1300 students by helping create a living-learning experience that empowers students to thrive. You will work directly with students, staff, and faculty to promote community building, student success, and personal growth. Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the development and implementation of a vision for the holistic student experience that reflects the mission, strategic plan and values of the College.
• Support program development that captures opportunities, aligns with enrollment and retention goals, and creates dynamic living experiences that support and delight students’ outcomes and interests.
• Foster belonging and community with a demonstrated commitment to valuing people relationally and individually. Support development of self-efficacy, identity and leadership through individual, policy and institutional influence. Promote community unity and personal well-being.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of a residential hall or area, ensuring a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment for all residents.
• Supervise, train, and support a team of Resident Assistants (RAs) and student employees, helping them to develop leadership skills and facilitate peer success in our residential and campus communities.
• Serve as a primary resource for students, getting to know them individually as relationships emerge and develop, and then seeking to address concerns, offer guidance, and overcome obstacles in a fair and empathetic manner.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and student leaders to enhance the overall student experience both in and outside of the residence halls.
• Provide on-call support for emergencies and student needs, ensuring a 24/7 presence when required.
• Promote and uphold residence hall policies and procedures to ensure safety, well-being, and respect within the residential community. In partnership with the Director of Rights and Responsibilities, serve as an administrator and hearing officer for assigned accountability and conduct situations.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of residence hall milestones and events, such as move-in day, special programming, and end-of-year celebrations.
• Foster a living-learning environment where students thrive academically and socially by offering resources and support for both academic and personal challenges.

• Master’s degree in higher education administration, college student personnel, or related field preferred; Bachelors degree required.
• Previous experience in a residential life setting as an RA or paraprofessional staff preferred.
• Must work collaboratively and cooperatively with diverse individuals and groups including administrators, faculty, staff, students, and parents.
• Experience with, and a commitment to, the residential liberal arts experience.
• A commitment to programs and practices that promote belonging and community.
• A willingness to work nights and weekends as program and college demands dictate.
• Reports directly to the Director of Residential Life. Receives general direction and guidance while working with independent discretion.
• Provides direct supervision of para-professional staff and student employees and leaders in a variety of positions and leadership roles.
