Job summary

BISM, Inc. in Maryland is seeking an instructor to lead nonvisual blindness training in our residential adjustment program CORE. You will teach orientation, mobility, Braille, technology, and independent living to residents and their families.

The role involves coordinating move-in/out procedures, conducting orientations, and promoting safety and independence in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Requires education or learning beyond high school via prolonged instruction.
• Proficiency in blindness-related skills is essential.
• Excellent oral and written communication required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nonvisual blindness training in the Adult Residential program with focus on Apartment Management.
• Deliver blindness mentoring to students and families.
• Assist with apartment move-in/move-out, orientation, and tours.
