Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Casework Associate I (S) to work in the Blind Services division at the Raleigh Career and Training Center. The role supports residents who are visually impaired or deafblind, providing life skills and classroom-based instructions, with a focus on independence and employment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
• Experience working in a residential setting.
• First Aid, CPR and AED certification.
• Familiar with JAWS, Zoom Text, and other assistive technology.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in the residential program and reinforce classroom learning.
• Assist with recreational activities and facility orientation.
• Collaborate with Residential Life Coordinator and the residential services team.
• Ensure safety and security while promoting independence for students.
