Job summary

The Area Coordinator at John Carroll University is a full-time, 12-month live-on professional staff member in the Office of Residence Life. The role leads a residential community of about 550 students across 1-2 halls, supervising 8-15 RAs and advising student leadership initiatives.

Responsibilities include ensuring activities align with university mission, handling student conduct within restorative justice, and supporting safety through on-call duties and collaboration with campus partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience in residence life or housing.
• Strong oral and written communication and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a residential community of approximately 550 students.
• Supervise, develop, and evaluate 8-15 RAs, including 1-2 Senior RAs.
• Oversee programming initiatives within the residential area.
• Hear student conduct cases and educate within restorative justice processes.
• Serve in the on-call duty rotation and support after-hours processes.
