Job summary

University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT, is seeking a full-time Area Coordinator (RC) to lead a team of up to 17 undergraduate Resident Assistants and manage a 24/7 on-call crisis response for a ~450-student residential campus.

The AC will oversee Residence Education activities, coordinate training, and collaborate with Public Safety and Student Health Services. This role requires evening/weekend availability and live-on campus housing.

Qualifications

• Masters degree (preferably in social work, higher education, education or counseling).
• Two years’ experience on a college campus.
• Two years’ experience in Residence Life.
• Experience with mediation, intervention and conflict management.
• Strong organizational and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate up to 17 undergraduate RAs.
• Coordinate RA training and bi-weekly supervision meetings.
• Oversee departmental programming and Housing/Residence Life initiatives.
• Serve on-call for emergencies and provide incident updates to staff.
• Enforce Student Code of Conduct and Housing Contract; maintain records.
• Collaborate with Public Safety, Counseling and Psychological Services, and Student Health Services.
• Assist with Housing Selection, Break Closings and Departmental Programs.
• Participate in university committees as assigned.
