Job summary

JOMA Construction LLC is seeking a Residential Lead Carpenter in Athens, GA to lead on-site carpentry tasks from demolition to millwork, ensuring quality and safety. You will report daily to the main office, clock in and out in project management software, and coordinate with the Production Team to complete tasks on schedule.

The role requires strong carpentry skills and the ability to read plans, measure accurately, and work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in general construction and carpentry.
• Experience in framing, decks, windows, doors, siding, and millwork.
• Good communication and willingness to ask questions when in doubt.
• Ability to read plans and scale off them as needed.
• Ability to receive instructions and follow directions.
• Basic math skills.
• Clean driver's license, background check, and drug test.
• Abide by OSHA safety protocols; PPE when necessary.

Responsibilities

JOMA Residential Lead Carpenter

Responsibilities:

• Report to the main office each morning for daily assignments
• Clock into each job and task separately in project management software
• Arrive at job sites and review assigned tasks
• Clarify instructions with the Production Team, if necessary
• Perform demolition, framing, siding, millwork, and cabinetry tasks as needed
• Communicate with other members of the Team
• Make a list of needed materials before they are needed
• Communicate progress updates to the on-site Project Manager at the end of the day
• Protect, clean, and keep job sites safely organized daily
• Keep work vehicles clean and organized
• Maintain vehicle inventory of essential tools, supplies, and OSHA safety materials
• Attend OSHA safety meetings and complete all assigned training

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in general construction and carpentry
• Experience in framing, decks, windows, doors, siding, and millwork
• Good communication skills and willingness to ask questions when in doubt
• Ability to read plans and scale off them as needed
• Ability to receive instructions and follow directions
• Ability to understand and utilize basic math skills
• Arrive at work with good hygiene and dressed appropriately
• Basic experience with smartphones, texting, and emails
• Supply personal hand tools and basic cordless/electrical tools
• Good time management and the desire to grow professionally
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team with a positive attitude
• Clean driver’s license, background check, and drug test
• Abide by OSHA safety protocol at all times
