Job summary

Vanguard Landing is seeking a dependable Cook to serve adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The Seaside Cafe operates 7 days a week with rotating evening and weekend shifts, focusing on nutritious meals and safety compliance.

Ideal candidates will have HS diploma or GED, ability to follow recipes, and experience in food service. ServSafe certification is preferred; driving license and transportation are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read recipes and follow written instructions.
• Pass Criminal Background and Central Registry checks.
• Current TB screening or ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Ability to meet physical requirements; stand and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks per menus and recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas.
• Follow DBHDS regulations, Virginia Health Dept standards, and policies.
• Provide courteous, professional service to residents and staff.
