Job summary

Godby Heating Plumbing Electrical is seeking an Experienced Residential HVAC Technician to diagnose and repair heating and cooling systems in Indianapolis homes. You’ll work independently in customers’ homes, perform maintenance, and ensure safe, efficient operation.

We offer competitive pay ($25.00–$35.00/hour) based on experience, year-round residential work, a company vehicle, ongoing training, and opportunities for professional growth in a family-owned local company with 50+ years of service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of residential HVAC service experience.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience servicing residential heating and cooling systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, airflow, and controls.
• Experience with furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related equipment.
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule; strong communication and customer service skills.

About the Position

As an Experienced Residential HVAC Technician, you'll work independently in customers' homes to diagnose system issues, perform preventative maintenance, complete equipment inspections, and keep residential heating and cooling systems operating safely and efficiently.

You'll work with furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, thermostats, humidifiers, air cleaners, and other indoor comfort equipment. You'll troubleshoot electrical, airflow, controls, and system performance issues while helping homeowners understand the condition of their equipment and available solutions.

You'll also complete service documentation using company technology, maintain an organized company vehicle, and represent Godby HPE professionally on every customer visit.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of two years of residential HVAC service experience
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
• Experience servicing residential heating and cooling systems
• Knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, airflow, and controls
• Experience with furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related equipment
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily scheduleStrong communication and customer service skills
• Professional and dependable approach to customer interactions
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Commitment to quality workmanship and continued technical development

EPA Certification is preferred.

Experience with high-efficiency HVAC systems, heat pumps, indoor air quality products, smart thermostats, or manufacturer-specific equipment is a plus.
