Job summary

Godby Heating Plumbing Electrical in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Commercial HVAC Installation Technician to install mechanical systems on commercial projects, from office buildings to medical offices. This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday day schedule and a compensation range of $25.00–$35.00 per hour based on experience.

You will read blueprints, set rooftop units, coordinate with project teams, and help train junior installers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of commercial HVAC installation experience
• Previous experience leading installation crews or coordinating projects is preferred
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, ductwork, and mechanical equipment
• Ability to interpret blueprints, layouts, and construction documents
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Commitment to quality workmanship and job site safety
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• EPA Certification preferred, with Universal Certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Install commercial HVAC equipment on new construction, replacement, and renovation projects
• Set rooftop units, split systems, VAV boxes, ductwork, and related mechanical equipment
• Read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and installation specifications
• Assemble, install, and connect HVAC components according to manufacturer specifications and local codes
• Coordinate daily work with project managers, general contractors, and other trades
• Perform equipment start-up assistance and verify installation quality
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
• Help train and support less experienced installers while contributing to successful project completion
