Advanced Air Conditioning + Heating in the Austin area is hiring experienced residential HVAC technicians. The pay plan is transparent: 20% commission on repairs you sell, 3% on full system replacements you complete, plus flat-rate service item commissions. Qualifications

• TDLR ACR technician registration in good standing; work under our contractor license.
• EPA 608 certification (Universal preferred).
• 2+ years hands-on residential service and repair experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• Physical readiness for Texas summers (attics, crawlspaces, rooftops).

Responsibilities

• Run residential HVAC maintenance, service, and repair calls with accuracy and professionalism.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues and explain findings clearly.
• Present repair vs. replacement options straightforwardly with real choices.
• Document work thoroughly in ServiceTitan.

Experienced residential HVAC tech? Our technicians average $45–$55/hour effective ($90K–$115K+ annually) — and unlike most shops, we'll show you the full written pay plan, line by line, in your first interview.

How the Pay Actually Works

This is performance-based pay with real, published numbers — not a mystery formula:

• 20% commission on repairs you sell and complete — capacitors, motors, boards, thermostats, and everything in between
• 3% commission on full system replacements you turn over to our Comfort Advisors — they close it, you still get paid
• Flat rate on the service items commissions don't cover — maintenance visits, warranty work, training, meetings, etc.
• Service-call fees stack with commission — you earn the diagnostic fee and the repair commission on the same visit
• Overtime calculated on your full earnings — commissions and spiffs included in the rate, not just base pay (RROP)
• PTO paid at your average effective rate — if you earn like a $50/hr tech, your time off pays like it too

What You Bring

Required:

• TDLR ACR technician registration in good standing (you'll work under our contractor license)

• 2+ years hands‑on residential service and repair experience — this is not an entry-level role
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• Experience with American Standard / Trane equipment and communicating thermostats
