Job summary

Champion AC of Austin is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems. You will diagnose issues, explain solutions to customers, and ensure quality workmanship in a safety-conscious environment.

Requirements include 3-5 years of HVAC service experience, 3-4 years of HVAC sales experience, EPA Type II or Universal certification, and a valid driver’s license with a clean record.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC service technician.
• 3-4 years of HVAC sales experience.
• EPA Certification (Type II or Universal) required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues, proposed solutions, and service details.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards and local codes.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided using company software or service tickets.
• Educate customers on system operation, maintenance tips, and energy efficiency options.
• Collaborate with dispatch, sales, and installation teams as needed.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.

• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various conditions (attics, crawlspaces, outdoors, etc.)
• Availability for rotating on-call shifts and emergency service as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC Trade School diploma or equivalent
• NATE Certification a plus
• Experience with smart thermostats and high-efficiency systems
