Vailes Home Improvement Services is seeking a Residential HVAC Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our Shenandoah Valley team in Fishersville, VA. This full-time role focuses on proactive care, routine tune-ups, and system inspections to maximize efficiency and reliability.

You will work independently on residential heating and cooling equipment, document findings, and communicate maintenance recommendations.

Qualifications

• At least one year of residential HVAC experience.
• EPA Type II Certification required (Universal preferred).
• Working knowledge of residential heating and cooling systems.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and seasonal tune-ups.
• Basic troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the team.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, seasonal tune-ups, and inspections on residential systems.
• Inspect furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, thermostats, and related equipment; replace filters and maintenance items.
• Document findings and communicate recommendations to homeowners clearly.
• Maintain service records and deliver professional customer service on every visit.
• Coordinate with the service team when repairs are needed beyond routine maintenance.

What You'll Do

As a Residential HVAC Preventative Maintenance Technician, you'll perform routine maintenance, seasonal tune-ups, and system inspections on residential heating and cooling equipment. Your goal is to help customers maximize equipment performance, improve efficiency, and identify repair opportunities before they become major breakdowns.

You'll inspect furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, thermostats, air handlers, and related comfort systems while cleaning components, replacing filters and common maintenance items, checking system performance, testing electrical and mechanical components, and documenting your findings. You'll communicate maintenance recommendations clearly to homeowners, maintain accurate service records, and deliver professional customer service during every visit.

When maintenance visits uncover repair needs beyond routine service, you'll clearly document your findings and coordinate with the service team to ensure customers receive the appropriate solutions.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for dependable technicians with at least one year of residential HVAC experience performing maintenance, installations, or service work.
