Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County in Brick, New Jersey seeks an Assistant Group Home Manager to guide the daily operations of a residential home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will lead staff, coach Direct Support Professionals, and support individuals toward greater independence.

Starting pay is $25.00 per hour with evening/weekend differentials and opportunities for overtime, paid training, and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license with no more than five points.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build strong working relationships while leading a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and adjust schedules as needed.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of residential services.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of the residential program and promote consistency in services.
• Provide coaching, direction, and problem-solving support to Direct Support Professionals.
• Take on operational leadership responsibilities when the Residential Program Manager is unavailable.
• Assist with staff scheduling and ensure adequate home coverage.
• Help individuals build independence through daily living skills and community participation.
• Coordinate medical appointments and monitor medication documentation and health-related services.
• Ensure compliance with agency expectations and state regulations.
• Support licensing visits, audits, and quality improvement activities.
