Floor & Decor is seeking a design consultant to meet with customers, understand their project needs, and craft design concepts that fit their style, lifestyle, and budget. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, advising on materials, and driving sales across residential and commercial projects.

The role emphasizes teamwork with store leadership, design trend awareness, and proficiency with design tools and software. A design background and customer-facing experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience.
• Degree in Design is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and support design needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele.
• Advise on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential/commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional, aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy and timely communication.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives and stay updated on design trends.
• Handle design applications like Salesforce and MyProject.
