Job summary

Floor & Decor Holdings Inc. is seeking a Design Consultant to meet with customers, assess project needs, and develop creative design concepts that fit style, lifestyle, and budget.

You will guide clients from initial greeting through installation, coordinating appointments and selling complete flooring and accessory solutions. The role requires interior design or retail/sales experience, a design mindset, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum design experience or retail/sales background.
• Degree in design is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is beneficial.
• Proficient in basic math.
• Self-motivated with multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office.
• Internal candidates require 12 months in a design consultant role.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and grow clientele through referrals and store leads.
• Advise on tile, wood, stone and accessories for residential/commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional, aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple projects through all phases with accurate communication.
• Use company tools and emails consistently for project updates.
• Collaborate with leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives and stay current with design trends.
• Understand design apps like Salesforce, Online Scheduler and MyProject.
