Job summary

St. Louis County Assessor's Office is seeking a Residential Appraiser Trainee (Residential Field Data Collector) to support the residential appraisal team.

This on-site, full-time role involves collecting data, verifying property characteristics, and assisting with fair and accurate assessments for single-family homes. The position emphasizes fieldwork and customer interactions with homeowners, with a clear path to promotion after one year of strong performance and completion of an appraisal

Qualifications

• One year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Performs field inspections of single family residential property to verify assessment records by reviewing, measuring and making necessary data changes.
• Performs inspections of single family residential property where preliminary values indicate an increase of more than 15 percent by reviewing and verifying the physical characteristics, and interviewing property owners onsite.
• Responds to property owner inquiries in person and on the telephone.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
