Job summary

ST. CHARLES COUNTY ASSESSOR is seeking a Field Appraiser to inspect construction on existing and new properties, review permits, and prepare scale drawings.

The role operates under supervision of the Commercial and Residential Appraisal teams. Responsibilities include planning inspections, collecting data, using GIS, measuring structures, entering material details, and supporting cost and income approaches.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Vocational/technical training in real estate appraisal is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans inspections and compiles information from blueprints, permits, maps, and worksheets for properties to be inspected.
• Creates an index for input into handheld data collection systems.
• Locates parcel using GIS mapping system.
• Conducts field audits of construction on existing and new properties and sketches structures into computer.
• Enters building materials data and estimates improvements for cost approach.

Education
