Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a Building & Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the total maintenance of the facility in a residential setting. The role ensures safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations across multiple sites in NYC.

Responsibilities include supervising maintenance and housekeeping staff, coordinating with outside contractors, planning repairs, and managing supplies. Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM with weekend/evening flexibility is possible, and the

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience supervising maintenance and housekeeping staff.
• 10 years’ construction and repair experience.
• Knowledge in electrical, plumbing, plaster, painting, door hardware, and general maintenance.
• Previous maintenance experience in a residential treatment facility (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the general cleanliness and sanitation of the facility as well as the safety and well‑being of the residents and facility structure and its contents.
• Meeting and maintaining regulatory and company safety standards.
• Inspect the building regularly for needed repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness.
• Perform or arrange for general building and fixture repairs.
• Plan, organize, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Build a strong team, including skill assessments and training plans for staff.
• Report unusual conditions or malfunctions of systems or incidents.
• Manage maintenance and security systems.
• Estimate labor and materials for repair or new construction.
• Assist in planning repair/renovation projects.
• Oversee and coordinate work with outside contractors.
• Inventory control of maintenance/kitchen supplies.
• Garbage and refuse disposal, snow removal.
• Supervise landscaping and grounds upkeep.
• Other duties as needed.
