Job summary

The University of Chicago seeks a Facilities Services team member to support residence hall operations, room turnover, and event setup across campus. Reporting to a Facilities Manager, you will perform non-mechanical repairs and provide essential service to residents and staff.

This position requires a high school diploma, extensive maintenance or janitorial experience in residential properties, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Extensive experience as skilled janitor/housekeeper or maintenance specialist for a residential property required.
• Valid Driver’s License required; MVR check.
• Maintenance apprentice program or certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide standard and conference room service, room turnover, access, and event set-up for residence hall operations.
• Perform non-mechanical repair and other services in common and student room spaces.
• Maintain orderly appearance of areas and assist with snow removal, litter policing and cleaning.
• Coordinate and generate follow-up work orders for engineers or skilled trades as needed.
• Support move-ins/move-outs with high resident contact and assist in inspections and turnovers.
