Job summary

Tide Homes, a Sole Construction Partner, is seeking a full-time Estimator to produce accurate material and labor estimates for custom homes in the Tampa Bay area. You’ll transform plans and specs into complete takeoffs that we can build and bid from with confidence.

You’ll work directly with the VP of Operations to price trades, maintain current pricing databases, and flag missing information early. The role emphasizes attention to detail, speed, and reliability, with Florida code requirements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of residential estimating experience for custom/semi-custom homes.
• Proven ability to produce accurate material takeoffs from plans.
• Knowledge of labor rates across all construction phases.
• Experience with estimating software and Excel proficiency.
• Ability to read drawings and specs precisely.
• Understanding of Florida building code and wind-load requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from architectural and structural plans.
• Estimate labor for all construction phases using current Tampa rates.
• Price trades and apply realistic production rates and crews.
• Create complete, organized estimates with line items and waste factors.
• Read plans, catch conflicts, and flag missing information early.
• Solicit supplier quotes and ensure apples-to-apples pricing.
• Maintain current material pricing and labor rate databases.
• Support pre-construction with revisions and value engineering.
• Deliver clean material lists and estimates to purchasing and field teams.
• Review completed jobs to tighten future accuracy and meet deadlines.
