Job summary

May Institute in Massachusetts seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our adult residential program. You will support adults (22+) with autism and developmental disabilities with daily routines, safety, and engagement, including transportation and transitions.

The role offers Day, Evening, and Overnight shifts, with both full-time and part-time options. Competitive pay starts at $20/hour, rising to $21/hour with MAP certification, plus benefits and education support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with at least 1 year of licensed driving experience required.
• Patience, compassion, and the ability to support adults with diverse communication and behavioral needs.
• Experience with adults or individuals with special needs (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Support adults with daily routines including hygiene, meals, dressing, and medication.
• Create a positive, structured environment that encourages communication, socialization, and skill-building.
• Use behavior support strategies to promote emotional regulation and reduce challenging behavior.
• Partner with clinical, familial, and healthcare teams to support individualized treatment plans.
• Provide transportation and community integration support for outings, appointments, and program transitions.
