Job summary

New Point Life Services is hiring Evening Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at our Carriage home in Mathews, VA. You will help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live safe, independent lives. No experience required; paid training and ongoing professional development are provided.

Schedule includes two-week rotations with evenings and every other weekend off. We offer health, dental and vision insurance, PTO, 401(k), and opportunities for career growth and leadership paths.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates compassion, patience and reliability.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for shift.
• Requires basic computer documentation proficiency.
• Must have valid driver’s license and pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Support each person per ISP and BSP.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, dressing and meals.
• Transport to activities and appointments.
• Plan and join recreational outings.
• Administer medications per policy (training provided).
• Handle light housekeeping and laundry; complete electronic notes.

You'll help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live safe, independent, connected lives. If you're caring and dependable, we'll teach you the rest.

SCHEDULE

• Twoweek rotation that repeats, so you can plan ahead
• Week 1: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri — 4:00 PM 12:30 AM
• Week 2: Wed — 4:00 PM 12:30 AM; Sat and Sun — 8:30 AM 9:0 PM
• Every other weekend off

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Support each person according to their Individual Support Plan (ISP) and Behavior Support Plan (BSP)
• Help with personal care, hygiene, dressing and evening meals
• Drive individuals to community activities and appointments
• Plan and join recreational outings
• Give medications following agency policy (we train you)
• Do light housekeeping and laundry
• Complete electronic notes and reports

YOU'RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU ARE

• Compassionate, patient and reliable
• Comfortable with basic computer documentation
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet during your shift

Required: a valid driver's license and the ability to pass a background check.

Nice to have (not required): high school diploma or GED, 1 year of experience supporting people with disabilities, or an active Virginia CNA, NA or PCA certification. Already working as a caregiver, CNA or home health aide? Your experience counts toward a higher starting rate.
