Job summary

Skill Creations, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide care and support for individuals with disabilities in coastal North Carolina. Roles include assisting with personal care, medication administration, and community outings, with various shifts available.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, background check, and ability to lift 50 pounds. CPR/First Aid training and driving ability are also required. Competitive benefits are offered for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED from an accredited school is required.
• Criminal Record Check
• Prompt and regular attendance for assigned work schedule is expected.
• A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving is required.
• Course work will be required for successful completion of CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management.
• Basic computer skills are needed for e-mail, electronic training modules and recording data.
• Persons must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and the work occasionally requires balancing, bending, stooping and kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and care for individuals living in Skill Creations facilities with needs in physical/medical care, behavioral support, cognitive support and independent living.
• Assist with personal care, medication administration and independent living skills.
• Transport or accompany individuals to activities in the community and to local or out-of-town appointments.
