Job summary

The Arc Madison Cortland is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide self-care training and daily living assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home. The role includes implementing Life Plans and promoting independence through daily activities.

Responsibilities include documenting care, submitting reports, and engaging residents in community-based activities to improve social skills, within a supportive residential program environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• License/clearance: Valid NYS driver’s license and 12 months driving history.
• Experience: Six months to one year related experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized care as outlined in the individual’s Life Plan or ISP.
• Assists individuals with daily living activities (toileting, feeding, cooking, cleaning) to promote independence.
• Maintains files and produces service notes and documentation on assigned caseload.
• Documents and submits reports to the program as outlined in the department.
• Maximizes consumer’s social skills by providing activities in a community setting.
