Job summary

Athelas Institute in Windsor Mill, MD is seeking a Direct Support Professional for residential services. The DSP will provide direct support, supervision, and mentoring to individuals with IDD/DD across activities of daily living and transportation navigation.

Onsite duties include maintaining a safe living environment and documenting care per policy. Responsibilities include medication administration under state rules, coordination with care plans, and active participation in meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Mandt Systems Training, CPR / First Aid, MTTP training preferred.
• Experience working with people with IDD/DD preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support, interaction and supervision of the supported persons, including meals, personal care, transportation, leisure activities, and community integration.
• Complete all state and agency required documentation within guidelines and deadlines.
• Maintain positive, professional working relationships with staff and participants.
• Support living environment in accordance with COMAR and Health Dept. standards.
• Administer medications as required following state and agency policies and the DDA nursing delegation model.
• Provide transportation to supported persons using company vehicles, requiring a valid Driver’s License.
• Attend scheduled meetings and participate actively; check emails daily for communication.
• Utilize agency electronic systems for time, attendance, progress notes, and incident reporting.
