Job summary

Athelas Institute is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Baltimore, MD. The role provides essential supports to waiver participants in home and community settings, focusing on daily living skills, personal care, and life skills.

The DSP will work Mon-Fri 5pm-8pm and Sat 10am-2pm, with driving responsibilities and documentation duties. Training, CPR/First Aid, and Mandt System certifications are encouraged for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Preferred DDA core competencies, Mandt Systems Training, CPR/First Aid, MTTP.
• Experience working with people with IDD/DD preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized supports to waiver participants in homes to maximize independence.
• Support the person per the Person-Centered Plan and Behavior Support Plan.
• Maintain documentation using agency electronic systems for notes and reporting.
• Encourage decision making, self-help, and daily planning.
• Follow the schedule and attend trainings/meetings as required.
• Drive and engage with the community as needed.
