Job summary

Waypoint is hiring a Per Diem Direct Support Professional for Adult Services in Maine. The role focuses on connecting residents to others, modeling healthy relationships, and supporting independence in community and residence settings.

You will work per diem hours with a maximum of 25 hours per week and an expectation to work at least 12 hours every two months to stay active. Responsibilities include skill-building, safety, documentation, and teamwork with the House Manager.

Qualifications

• Desire to work with individuals with intellectual disabilities
• Willingness to implement positive behavior support and structured activities
• Ability to collect accurate treatment/date data and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• Develop a rapport with residents and cultivate a safe, supportive relationship
• Provide support and guidance during skills-building activities
• Implement individual treatment plans and positive support plans
• Support daily living activities: meals, hygiene, cleanliness
• Transport residents in approved vehicles for activities/appointments
• Exercise sound judgment to ensure safety; notify House Manager of issues
• Respect privacy and confidentiality of members
• Manage member funds with accurate records
• Follow licensing, MaineCare, and Waypoint policies
• Collect updates to ISP progress notes and plans daily
• Follow mandated reporter guidelines
• Maintain professional conduct and teamwork with staff
• Be flexible to assist in all residential settings
• Promote safety and maintain clean, orderly residences
• Report safety/maintenance needs to Home Manager
• Adhere to transportation policies and vehicle maintenance checks
• Perform other duties as assigned
