Waypoint Maine is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help members connect with others by modeling healthy relationships, supporting independence, and promoting self-determination. The DSP will work in residents’ homes or programs, maintaining a respectful and confidential environment while adhering to Waypoint policies.

Qualifications

• Desire to work with individuals with intellectual and other disabilities.
• Willingness to implement positive behavior support and structured activities.
• Excellent communication with members, families, coworkers and professionals.
• Basic IT literacy and ability to learn new systems.
• Must complete required certifications as primary DSP duties.

Responsibilities

• Develop rapport with residents and cultivate a safe, supportive relationship.
• Provide guidance during skills-building activities and follow individual plans.
• Ensure safety, privacy, and confidentiality in daily operations.
• Assist with daily living activities, meals, hygiene, and environment upkeep.
• Support healthy eating, fitness, and overall wellness choices.
• Transport residents in approved vehicles for activities or appointments.
• Document ISP progress notes and treatment plans accurately.
• Attend trainings and maintain required certifications.
