WC Smith is seeking a Custodian to join our team at 2800 Woodley in Washington, DC. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness in common areas, restrooms, and entryways to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a dependable work ethic with physical stamina for standing, walking, and lifting cleaning supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or cleaning experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, sanitation procedures, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain common areas such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, and stairwells.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces throughout the property.
• Clean restrooms, replenish supplies, and maintain restroom cleanliness.
• Dispose of trash and recycling according to procedures.
• Monitor cleanliness and address issues promptly.
• Clean entryways, glass doors, and interior windows.
• Assist with cleaning vacant apartments as directed.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and store supplies properly.
• Notify supervisor of maintenance concerns or safety hazards.
• Follow safe handling and storage procedures for cleaning products.
