Job summary

WellPower seeks a Residential Counselor to support adults in a 12-hour shift residential setting in Denver, CO. You will provide individual psychotherapy, facilitate group sessions, coordinate care with case management, and advocate for clients within a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes ADL coaching, safety, documentation, and maintaining a trauma-informed recovery environment. Shift work including weekends is required.

Qualifications

• RC I: Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field; or CNA/HHA certification preferred.
• RC II: Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field.
• One year mental health experience preferred; must be 21+ to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual psychotherapy with consumers to support and insight.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions within the house.
• Coordinate clinical care with case management and other services inside and outside MHCD.
• Assess consumers throughout the day and provide appropriate interventions.
• Encourage and train consumers in activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Maintain treatment continuity as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Complete intake and discharge tasks for new residents or move-outs.
• Document significant consumer interactions toward recovery and continuity of care.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with staff and clinicians as needed.
• Advocate for acceptance and integration of individuals with mental illness in the community.
• Maintain a trauma-informed environment of wellbeing.
