Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas is seeking a Residential Counselor to support clients in a residential setting under clinical supervision. The role focuses on promoting independent living skills, assessing rehabilitation needs, and implementing individualized plans.

Responsibilities include crisis support, health teaching, medication safety, and coordination with staff. Strong written and verbal communication, and experience in mental health settings are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus at least two years of experience in a mental health residential setting and/or social service related field.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field or RN licensure with at least 1 year experience providing rehabilitative services preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast healthcare environment.

Responsabilités

• Participates in the assessment of clients' rehabilitative service needs and development of the rehabilitation plan.
• Delivers rehabilitation and support services aligned with individual goals.
• Supports self-care and independent living skills development in clients.
• Provides health teaching and prevention of communicable diseases as appropriate.
• Maintains documentation and coordinates discharge planning as required.
• Ensures medication storage and supervises self-administration when privileged.
