Job summary

Gandara Mental Health Center, Inc. is hiring Residential Counselor full-time, part-time, and relief staff to support the DDS program in the Greater Springfield area. The role emphasizes open communication, support, and accountability among staff and consumers within a developmental disability services framework.

You will promote human and civil rights, help develop skills, and collaborate with the DDS Program Manager on supervision and training. A strong commitment to client dignity is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in human services preferred.
• At least one year experience with psychiatric clients preferred.
• Must have valid driver's license and safe driving history.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend scheduled clinical and staff meetings and contribute to treatment plans and goals.
• Maintain client records in standard format and timelines.
• Attend supervisory meetings with Program Manager.
• Maintain progress notes for each shift.
• Promote dignity and human rights of individuals in care.
• Assist with ADL skills through individual and group training.
• Support rights and meaningful decision-making for people with developmental disabilities.
• Provide safe responses to emergencies and case management where needed.
• Develop supportive relationships and ensure client safety.

Skills

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Psychiatric experience
