Job summary

Vesta, Inc. seeks a part-time Residential Counselor in Severn, MD to support individuals with mental illness in our residential program. You will help coordinate client care, meals, chores, grooming, and medication monitoring while ensuring safety and dignity.

Prior eHR notes experience and a valid driver’s license required; bachelor’s degree or 3 years in mental health preferred. We offer comprehensive benefits, paid training, PTO, holidays, and retirement options.

Vesta, Inc. is a financially sound, not-for-profit mental health organization Maryland, providing comprehensive behavioral healthcare. We're currently seeking a passionate individual to join our Severn's Region's Residential Program.

As a Residential Counselor, you'll play a vital role in assisting individuals diagnosed with severe mental illness. Your responsibilities will include coordinating client care and daily activities, such as meal preparation, household chores, grooming, and medication monitoring. You'll provide essential oversight in our residential homes, working closely with senior clients who have various diagnoses and behavior disorders, alongside somatic care needs.

Position Details:

• Hours: Part-Time: Thursday and Friday 3pm-11pm & Saturday 8am-8pm; with flexibility availability to cover morning or 2nd shift during the week
• Location: Severn, MD

Qualifications:

• Ability to drive a 15-passenger van and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Experience using eHR for daily notes
• Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of experience in mental health preferred
• Experience providing skills training in residential or day program settings
• Must pass background check and drug screening

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $20.56/hour - $23.02/hour, paid bi-weekly, with opportunities for overtime. Salary calculated based on education and experience.

Other Compensation: Employees are eligible for bonuses (variable, depending on company and individual performance) and paid training.

PTO: New employees can accrue up to 96 hours of PTO in the first year (pro-rated based on start date and hours worked). Employees can accrue up to 40 hours of sick leave per calendar year (pro-rated based on start date and hours worked).

Holidays: Full-Time employees receive 8 paid holidays per year, with overtime if required to work. Part-Time employees are eligible for overtime if required to work on holidays.

Retirement: 403(b) plan participation available at hire. Employer matching after 1000 hours of service. Discretionary employer contributions are given at least once a year.

Health Benefits: Full and Part-Time Employees are eligible for benefits beginning the first day of the month after hire. Benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision (single and family), flex-spending accounts (FSA and Dependent Care).
