Job summary

Drees Homes is seeking a Cost Estimator for its Austin Division. This entry-level role focuses on costing, estimating, pricing, and cost analysis of residential homes, with training provided for the right candidate.

You will use estimating software to verify take-offs, update bid pricing with vendors, and prepare detailed estimates and purchase orders. Ideal candidates have process orientation, are able to read bid sets and architectural plans, and can communicate effectively with internal and

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills with Excel required; On Screen Take Off and BlueBeam are pluses.
• Analytical, detail-minded, team oriented, autonomous, and a good communicator.
• Experience in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Accounting or related field.
• Ability to read bid sets and architectural plans to construct cost estimates.
• Experience conducting bid analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and purchase orders for all product in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy.
• Utilize estimating software to verify take-offs and resolve disputes.
• Update and maintain bid pricing from all vendors.
• Work closely with vendors/subcontractors to enhance effective communication and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Create and distribute job packets to the field upon completion of job estimates.
• Other duties as assigned
