Job summary

Drees Homes, headquartered in Fort Mitchell, KY, is seeking an entry-level Cost Estimator for our Midwest Region. This role focuses on costing, estimating, pricing, and cost analysis of residential homes, with training provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities include preparing detailed estimates, using estimating software, updating bid pricing, and coordinating with vendors and municipalities. Join a leading private homebuilder offering strong benefits and growth.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills including Excel; On Screen Take Off and BlueBeam valued.
• Analytical, detail-minded, team oriented, autonomous and a good communicator.
• Experience in Construction Management, Construction Technology or Accounting preferred.
• Ability to read bid sets, architectural plans and build cost estimates.
• Experience conducting bid analysis is a plus.
• Self-motivated to multi-task and meet deadlines; problem solver.
• Homebuilder estimating experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and purchase orders for all product in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy.
• Utilize estimating software to verify take-offs and resolve disputes.
• Update and maintain bid pricing from all vendors.
• Work closely with vendors/subcontractors to enhance effective communication and resolve issues promptly.
• Obtain permits prior to releasing homes to construction and maintain good relationships with municipalities.
• Create and distribute job packets to the field upon completion of job estimates.
• Other duties as assigned.
