Drees Homes, a family-owned homebuilder with a rich 95-year history, seeks a Cost Estimator for its Purchasing office in Cleveland, OH. The role focuses on costing, estimating, pricing, and cost analysis of residential homes to support project bids and profitability.

The position involves interfacing with trade partners, preparing detailed estimates and purchase orders, and maintaining bid pricing with accuracy.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills including Excel
• Analytical, detail-minded, team oriented and a good communicator
• Experience in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Accounting or related field, preferred
• Ability to read bid sets, architectural plans as well as construct cost estimates preferred
• Experience conducting bid analysis a plus
• A visual learner with strong organizational skills
• Self-motivated to be able to multi-task and meet deadlines
• A problem solver who can take ownership of projects
• Experience working in a construction related capacity a real plus

Responsibilities

• Communicate with trade partners and oversee cost codes
• Prepare detailed estimates and purchase orders for all product in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy
• Utilize estimating software to verify take-offs and resolve disputes
• Update and maintain bid pricing from all vendors
• Establish working relationships with vendors/subcontractors to enhance effective communication
