Job summary

Drees Homes is seeking an entry-level Cost Estimator for our Austin Division to support cost planning for residential projects. You will perform costing, pricing, and cost analysis of home estimates, and work with vendors and subcontractors to maintain accurate bid pricing.

We value process orientation and are willing to train the right candidate. The position offers a competitive salary with potential bonus and opportunities for growth within a well-established builder.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills including Excel.
• Experience with On Screen Take Off and BlueBeam is a plus.
• Ability to read bid sets and architectural plans.
• Experience in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Accounting or related field preferred.
• Self-motivated to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Good communication with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and purchase orders for all product in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy.
• Utilize estimating software to verify take-offs and resolve disputes.
• Update and maintain bid pricing from all vendors.
• Work closely with vendors/subcontractors to enhance effective communication and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Create and distribute job packets to the field upon completion of job estimates.
• Other duties as assigned.
