Job summary

Samaritan's Purse in Harrison County, West Virginia, is seeking a Construction Worker for the U.S. Rebuild project. You will help construct and repair homes, collaborate with project supervision, and coordinate volunteers on site.

The role requires basic trades knowledge, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a medical card. The project lasts 1-2 years and offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school and three (3) to six (6) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to obtain a driver's medical card (required)
• Trade certifications (electrical, plumbing, roofing, framing, and finish carpentry) (preferred)
• Class A Commercial Driver's License (preferred)
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of residential home construction, from layout and foundation work to final inspection

Responsibilities

• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
• Work jointly with the Project Superintendent, Construction Foremen, and Logistics Coordinators to construct and/or repair homes in the affected area
• Work with other construction workers and hired subcontractors when needed
• Lead skilled and unskilled volunteer labor on job-site
• Provide safety training and general project training for team members at the job site and assure all work is done according to safety standards
• Other duties as assigned
