Job summary

Samaritan's Purse in Harrison County, West Virginia, seeks a dedicated Cook to support the U.S. Rebuild team. You will prepare breakfast and dinner for staff and volunteers, maintain the kitchen, and ensure safety and cleanliness.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, ServeSafe certification, and the ability to work with volunteers. This is a full-time position for the rebuild project lasting 1–2 years, based at the site.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with 1–3 months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
ServeSafe handler certificate is required.

Responsibilities

Maintain the kitchen and kitchen equipment.
Prepare breakfast and dinner each day for Rebuild volunteers and staff.
Prepare menu, orders, and purchases to serve staff and volunteers at the Rebuild site.
Work with the Office Manager and Volunteer Coordinator to accurately keep receipt reports and timesheets.
Oversee the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining hall.
Greet all staff and visitors and utilize volunteers to assist in the kitchen.
Other duties as assigned.

We are seeking a Cook to join our U.S. Rebuild team in Harrison County, WV. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the role of Cook, you will have the opportunity to:

Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ

Prepare menu, orders, and purchases to serve the staff and volunteers at the Rebuild site
