Job summary

Progress Street Builders is seeking a seasoned Residential Construction Project Manager to lead the construction phase of custom homes in Lynchburg, VA. You will oversee subcontractors, suppliers, schedules, budgets, site activities, and client communications to ensure projects meet plans and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of custom residential PM experience, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to travel daily to construction sites.

Residential Construction Project Manager

Location: Lynchburg, VA

Progress Street Builders is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the construction phase of residential projects. This person will coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, schedules, budgets, materials, site activity, client communication, and project documentation. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, calm under pressure, and comfortable working directly with homeowners, design professionals, subcontractors, and vendors.

Progress Street Builders is an award-winning custom home builder serving the New River Valley and Lynchburg areas of Virginia. Our team builds thoughtfully designed custom homes with a focus on quality, collaboration, and a predictable building experience for every client.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with independent trade partners to efficiently manage our production schedule.
• Coordinating with suppliers and ordering construction materials as needed.
• Proactively maintain daily communication with independent contractors and suppliers.
• Verify, approve, and code invoices for completed work.
• Track and report on construction costs following the budget.
• Understand and ensure code compliance by all trade partners.
• Supervise onsite personnel and trade partners.
• Interface with inspectors, contractors, architects, city and county officials, and clients.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to the original plans and specifications.
• Ensure that all projects and purchasing/inventory functions are completed in alignment with specifications and quality requirements.
• Contribute towards the achievement of the company's strategic and operational objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years custom residential construction project management experience

• Strong proven Management Qualities with a focus on deadlines and attention to detail.
• A willingness to travel to the construction site(s) daily.
• A willingness to work extended hours as necessary to meet production milestones.
• Maintain job safety and cleanliness.

Compensation

• Full-Time. W-2 Employment
• Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 per year
• Two weeks of PTO earned during the first year
• Healthcare coverage with the company paying 75% of the employee's premium
• Simple IRA with dollar-for-dollar company match up to 3% of annual salary
• Mileage reimbursement for approved job-related travel
