Matern Staffing is hiring a Project Manager for an expanding residential construction firm in Fredericksburg, Va. The Project Manager oversees all phases of home construction, ensuring projects stay on schedule, within budget, and aligned with each homeowner’s vision.

In this role, you’ll do more than manage timelines and budgets—you’ll help families bring their vision of home to life. From collaborating with contractors and vendors to ensuring quality craftsmanship, you’ll be at the heart of every build, making sure each home is delivered with precision, quality, and care.

Schedule: Monday‑through‑Friday, with occasional weekend work.

What You’ll Do

• Plan and manage residential construction projects from pre‑construction through completion.
• Analyze project plans and specs to determine material needs and prepare accurate cost estimates for labor and materials.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, architects, and inspectors.
• Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and client specifications.
• Maintain daily job site logs with photos and videos using our construction management software.
• Conduct regular site visits and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
• Communicate proactively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including permits, change orders, estimates, and punch lists.

What You’ll Need

• 3+ years of experience in residential construction project management (new home construction preferred).
• Strong knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes, and inspections.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, contracts, and technical documents.
• Strong attention to detail with great follow‑through to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness.
• Proven ability to lead teams and communicate assertively across all project levels, including vendors and contractors.
• Skilled at building collaboration and trust while driving project goals forward with clarity and confidence.
• Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to reliably commute to multiple job sites.
