Job summary

Progress Street Builders in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a Residential Construction Superintendent to manage daily field operations on custom home projects. This is a field-focused role with most time on jobsites and occasional office work, centered on leadership rather than carpentry.

You will supervise crews and subcontractors, coordinate materials and schedules, and ensure safety, quality, and client satisfaction throughout the build process.

Qualifications

• Residential construction experience required.
• Experience as a site supervisor or similar leadership role in custom home projects.
• Strong knowledge of building processes and trade coordination.
• Ability to lead crews with professionalism and confidence.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project locations.

Residential Construction Superintendent

Location: Lynchburg, VA

Progress Street Builders is seeking a Residential Construction Superintendent to manage daily field operations for custom residential construction projects. This is a primarily field-based position, with most time spent on jobsites and limited time in the office. The right candidate will be a manager of people and details, not a full-time tools-on carpenter. However, someone with a strong field background who is ready to transition into a leadership-focused role may be an excellent fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of time on active jobsites overseeing daily construction activity
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, materials, and project details

• Prior experience as a site supervisor, superintendent, project manager, construction manager, lead carpenter, or similar field leadership role in custom Home Remodeling Projects
• Strong knowledge of building processes, trade coordination, and jobsite sequencing
• Ability to lead crews and subcontractors with professionalism and confidence
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Professional, dependable, and comfortable representing the company on client-facing projects
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project locations as needed

Compensation

• Full-Time. W-2 Employment
• Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
• Two weeks of PTO earned during the first year
• Healthcare coverage with the company paying 75% of the employee's premium
• Simple IRA with dollar-for-dollar company match up to 3% of annual salary
• Mileage reimbursement for approved job-related travel
