Job summary

Anne Arundel County Government is seeking a full-time, permanent Combination Inspector in the Office of Inspections and Permits. The role involves inspecting residential building construction plans and sites for compliance with building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical codes.

Qualified candidates will have two or more years of inspection experience, an ICC Residential Combination Inspector certification, and a valid Class C driver's license.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school is required.
• Two or more years of construction inspection experience with code enforcement.
• ICC certification as residential combination inspector is required.
• Valid non-commercial Class C driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform final inspections of residential structures and review plans for compliance.
• Check permits and conformity with building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical codes.
• Record data using call-in system and maintain inspection records.
• Advise contractors, owners, attorneys, and the public on code interpretation and application.
• Issue violation notices and stop-work orders as needed; testify when required.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other inspectors on complex issues.
