Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active Georgia Bar admission in good standing.
  • Experience handling residential real estate transactions and closings preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Georgia real estate law and residential closing procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines.
  • Professional, client-focused approach with interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage residential real estate purchase and sale transactions from contract to closing.
  • Conduct and review title examinations, identify and resolve title issues.
  • Review purchase/sale agreements, lender documents, title commitments, surveys, and other documents.
  • Prepare and review closing documents, settlement statements, deeds, affidavits, and related instruments.
  • Coordinate with buyers, sellers, agents, lenders, title companies, builders, and other parties.
  • Conduct residential closings and ensure documents are properly executed.
  • Provide clear and practical legal advice throughout the transaction.
  • Address title, lien, escrow, and other issues during closing.
  • Communicate proactively with clients and partners to move toward closing.
  • Work with paralegals, closing staff, and other attorneys to ensure efficient closings.

Position Overview

The Residential Real Estate Attorney will be responsible for managing residential real estate transactions from contract through closing while providing knowledgeable, responsive counsel to clients and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • -Manage residential real estate purchase and sale transactions from contract to closing.
  • -Conduct and review title examinations and identify and resolve title issues.
  • -Review purchase and sale agreements, lender documents, title commitments, surveys, and other transaction documents.
  • -Prepare and review closing documents, settlement statements, deeds, affidavits, and related instruments.
  • -Coordinate with buyers, sellers, real estate agents, lenders, title companies, builders, and other transaction parties.
  • -Conduct residential closings and ensure all required documents are properly executed.
  • -Provide clear and practical legal advice throughout the transaction.
  • -Address title, lien, payoff, escrow, and other issues that arise during the closing process.
  • -Communicate proactively with clients and transaction partners to keep matters moving toward closing.
  • -Work closely with paralegals, pre-closers, closing staff, and other attorneys to ensure an efficient closing experience.
  • -Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while managing multiple transactions and deadlines.
