Job summary

KidsPeace New England is seeking a full-time Residential Childcare Supervisor at our Graham Lake Campus in Ellsworth, Maine. This role provides leadership, crisis management, and direct support to our Residential Childcare Specialists and youth in a therapeutic setting.

The Supervisor ensures safety and well-being by guiding staff across units, coordinating evening programming, and overseeing incident reporting to maintain a supportive, therapeutic environment for youth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of experience working with children, preferably in residential or behavioral health.
• Strong written communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to physically participate in crisis intervention procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to residential staff in crisis prevention and intervention.
• Deliver direct crisis intervention using Safe Crisis Management (SCM).
• Ensure compliance with all Critical Incident Report requirements, including documentation, staff debriefings, and follow-up coordination.
• Assist in evening and off-campus programming, ensuring proper staffing ratios across all units.
• Participate in physical crisis interventions, including restraints, when necessary.
• Maintain consistent presence within the residential units to ensure safety and support.

Position Overview
