Summary
Baptist Children's Homes of NC provides residential cottage homes where trained Cottage Parents care for children in a Christian, family environment. The Residential Case Manager Supervisor demonstrates the institution’s purpose, philosophy, policies and procedures and oversees day‑to‑day activities and needs of the children in care. The role supports teams and families to function at the highest level of competency, ensuring agency policies, procedures and programs are delivered appropriately.
Qualifications
- Minimum age 25
- MSW or equivalent human services master’s degree with at least two years of full‑time supervised experience in family services, or bachelor’s in human services with four years of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated personal qualities and competence to contribute positively to agency programs
- Knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill responsibilities, including adherence to BCH Code of Conduct and applicable ethical codes
- Ability to identify with and embrace agency philosophy, purpose, and spiritual emphasis
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Supervision
- Work under direct supervision of Regional Director or equivalent
- Attend weekly supervisory conferences and develop action plans
- Maintain communication with supervisor regarding significant occurrences
- Assist in recruitment, orientation, training, evaluations, and pay recommendations for case managers
- Oversee caseload distribution and maintain personnel files
- Plan and conduct ongoing staff training to advance practice methods
- Preside over case management staff meetings and maintain balanced caseloads
Policies and Procedures
- Operate within agency guidelines and program of intentionalized services
- Represent institution’s philosophy to groups, individuals and referral agencies
- Participate in planning and implementing area calendars and special events
Professionalism / Teamwork
- Support roles of cottage teams and respect their involvement
- Participate in team meetings to review developments and share strategies
- Provide leadership to supervisees and collaborate with regional management team
- Promote cultural and socioeconomic diversity and positive relationships within BCH
- Contribute to agency performance quality improvement program as needed
Clients
- Establish relationships with client resources and assist families with services
- Support custodians in parental responsibilities during placement
- Ensure comprehensive case records and service delivery in residential and emergency care
- Participate in admission and discharge planning and team meetings to review service plans
- Maintain quick communication and retrieval of essential case information
Record Keeping
- Keep all case files and documentation current (plans, reviews, progress notes, outcome measures, discharge summaries)
- Assist Regional Director with statistical reports and PQI data
Knowledge and Training
- Continuously increase knowledge of family systems, residential child care, and relevant programs
- Serve as a mentor and guide staff in applying best practices
- Develop external resource pool and conduct family systems trainings as requested
