Job summary

Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities seeks a Residential Care Supervisor 1 for Tiffin Developmental Center in Northwest Ohio. The role involves implementing Individual Service Plans, directing campus operations, and supervising staff during a 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM shift, including weekends and holidays.

Mandatory hours apply. Candidates should have 24 months of care experience or training, with a preference for experience with developmental disabilities or related habilitation plans.

Qualifications

• 24 months of training or 24 months of experience providing care to patients, preferably with developmental disabilities.
• Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment as noted in policy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with case managers to implement Individual Service Plans and meet residents' needs.
• Direct the Campus Support Office operations, route calls, assign state vehicles, and log incidents.
• Oversee timekeeping for staff, approve time off and overtime requests, and ensure schedules are correct.
• Provide hands-on coaching and training using trauma-informed care and approved behavioral techniques.
• Provide corrective feedback or disciplinary action per policy and labor agreements.
• Monitor home environment for safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.
• Work the mandatory hours; primarily 2PM–10PM, including weekends and holidays.

Job Duties Of a Residential Care Supervisor 1

• Working with case managers to ensure Individual Service Plans are implemented properly and the residents' needs are met - this includes facilitating activities both on and off campus and following purchasing procedures.
• Working in the Campus Support Office to direct phone calls into facility, ensure staffing needs are met, assigning state vehicles for use and receiving / logging information about Unusual Incidents and staff call-offs & work injuries
• Timekeeping for assigned staff - ensuring staff submit request for time off and requests for overtime/compensatory time, approving requests & timecards, ensuing schedule is correct in timekeeping system.
• Provide hands-on support to staff by modeling active treatment strategies, delivering in-the-moment training and coaching, and responding to staff who need real-time guidance or assistance including the use of trauma-informed care principles and approved behavioral intervention techniques.
• Provide corrective feedback or disciplinary action as needed, in alignment with facility policies and labor agreements.
• Monitor the home environment to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Mandatory hours are required.
• Working hours are primarily 2PM - 10PM, working on weekends and holidays is required.

24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in providing care to patients &/or in participating in development &/or carrying out of patients' habilitation plans & preferably for those who had developmental disabilities or mental disability, & in implementing & carrying out same.

Tiffin Developmental Center (TDC)

TDC is a residential facility located in Northwest Ohio. We support youth aged 10-17 and adults with developmental disabilities. We have a large rural campus which provides opportunities for our residents to be active in addition to being part of our community. Our direct care staff and nurses provide 24/7 care to the individuals who call TDC home. We focus on support and stabilization so our individuals can integrate into an environment that best meets their wants and needs.
