Job summary

Turning Point of Central California, Inc. is seeking a Direct Service Professional to support residents under the Program Director, providing direct care and collaborating on treatment goals.

You will assist with treatment plans, documentation, transportation to appointments, daily living skills sessions, and participation in trainings. Must have HS diploma, 6 months direct care experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with some college units in social services/health care.
• 6 months prior experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Must be at least 21 years old per California law.
• English communication skills (written and spoken).
• Ability to write progress reports for treatment documentation.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and maintain professional relationships.
• Competently provide direct services for Developmentally Disabled residents.
• Understand and follow care and treatment principles for DD residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the treatment plan under the Program Director’s supervision.
• Maintain case documentation per agency guidelines.
• Transport residents to doctors' appointments and tests.
• Conduct daily living skills sessions and re-socialization activities.
• Attend staff meetings and supervision sessions.
• Participate in trainings and practicum.
• Support residents in treatment activities and encourage participation.
• Motivate residents to develop self-reliance.
