Job summary

Cherry Health in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Residential Care Coordinator for the 3rd shift to oversee residents in a re-entry setting. Responsibilities include intake, policy enforcement, incident reporting, and medication oversight, with emphasis on safety and documentation.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a Michigan driver’s license, CPR certification within a week, and prior experience in mental health or correctional programs is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; CPR certification within first week or soon after.
• MI driver's license required; clean driving record for 5 years.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in Human Services or Social Work preferred.
• Experience in mental health, substance abuse, or residential programs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Orient and intake new residents and explain facility rules and expectations.
• Maintain documentation of client activities and relevant information.
• Monitor activities on campus and in the community using headcounts and GPS.
• Oversee sign-in/out, conduct searches, and enforce safety policies.
• Administer urinalysis testing and monitor substance-use policies.
• Conduct perimeter checks, track resident counts, and report concerns.
• Attend staff meetings and document incidents for supervisor review.
• Oversee medication administration and timing, and document doses.
• Distribute mail, meals, and transportation tickets to residents.
• Transport residents as needed and maintain facility cleanliness.
